I retired from electrical contracting in 1990 and my wife and I moved to Eugene for the slower pace and friendly community. Soon thereafter I became involved in community affairs and joined the FAN board in 1992. I have been the board's representative to the Neighborhood Leaders Council for four years and I am now in my fifth year as FAN co-chair where I advocate for quality of life issues. I enjoy the outdoors, sci-fi and fantasy, hosting get-togethers, woodworking and tinkering and have been know to fix things just by touching them. I love treasure hunting at garage sales and in dumpsters and have a special affinity for cats.

Lived in Eugene since 1991 and graduated from the UO in 1996 with a degree in metal sculpture. I've volunteered on the FAN Board since October of 2007 and served as newsletter editor since Spring of 2008. I hope to promote awareness of our neighborhood's history and facilitate communications between Friendly residents. I'm a welder and artist.

My parents moved our family to Eugene and College Hill from Portland in 1954 and except for a few years during and after going to the U of O I have lived in the FAN neighborhood ever since. My residence of 29 years is near the base of College Hill on 19th and is the fourth residence that I have occupied in FAN.

I have worked in architectural design, jewelry retail and wholesale, photography, and landscaping. For the last 16 years I have owned, Distinct Possibilities Landscapes, a landscape design build business with my partner, Sharon Berry, and have just started an internet photography business.

I joined the FAN board 11+ years ago and was chair and co-chair of the FAN board for 3+ years after our former city councilor, Bonny Bettman, had resigned from the board. My second co-chair, Nancy Ellen Locke, and I found being co-chairs took a lot of time up in the daily operations of the neighborhood and we really preferred do projects like the tree plantings at Westmoreland Park.

The last two projects you could have seen me working on were the Friendly Park Matching Grant and the College Hill Reservoir Matching Grant.

I walk through the neighborhood quit a bit with my camera taking pictures of plant and trees. If you see me say "Hi" and feel free to ask any questions or give suggestions. And volunteer; you can make a difference!!!
